I have never broken a bone, so I can't really compare that. I thought that the pushing was more painful than the contractions, but the pushing didn't last very long for me. I personally didn't think it was as bad as some people make it sound. Just try to relax about it. I think that having a positive attitude is the best thing you can do. A vagina is like a penis inside out. The vagina will swell and become tight when you are aroused, because lots of blood will flow to that area. The vaginal discharge after delivery can last 4-6 weeks. The first week or so is like a heavy period, but gets less in amount and darker in color as time goes on. Any time after the discharge stops completely, you can start your period again. If you're breastfeeding full time, you may not have a period for several weeks or more - BUT remember, you can get pregnant BEFORE you have that first period, so plan what you want to do about birth control, and use it.
